Autumn news from Nicci: webinars, you and your horse, and Monday yoga

As we move into the darker, quieter months, I'd like to share a few new offerings and developments in my clinic work. I am opening a practical evening webinar series for parents of neurodivergent children, expanding my craniosacral work with horses and their owners, and returning to our Monday evening yoga practice after half term on 2nd November.

The biology beneath behaviour - Webinar Series

My new four-part online webinar series on Wednesday evenings starting 4th November 8-9pm is designed for parents and carers who want to understand how functional medicine can support neurodivergent children by exploring their unique biology, without trying to change who they are.

Through functional medicine, we investigate gut health, the microbiome, DNA variations (nutrigenomics), nutrient levels and potential environmental toxins to understand how a child's body functions and responds to stress.

By understanding this biological information, we can develop personalised strategies to optimise nutrition, support detoxification pathways, improve gut health and regulate the nervous system. Nutrigenomics helps us understand how genetic variations influence biological processes and how nutrition and lifestyle may positively influence gene expression.

Our aim is to support better sleep, emotional regulation, stress resilience and sensory wellbeing, helping children and their families thrive.

What the four sessions will cover

Session 1 – The Biology Beneath Behaviour

Understanding the child's unique biology through gut microbiome analysis, nutrigenomics, nutrient levels and environmental toxin exposure. Exploring how these factors influence nervous system function, stress responses, sleep and behaviour, and how targeted testing can guide personalised support.

Session 2 – Gut Health, Nutrition, Sleep and Selective Eating

Practical strategies to improve gut microbiome health, optimise nutrient levels and gently address selective eating. We will also explore sleep hygiene and nervous system regulation to support better sleep and overall wellbeing.

Session 3 – Stress Regulation in Real Life

Simple, practical tools for children and parents, including breathing, tapping, movement, nature and co-regulation techniques to support calmer nervous systems, emotional resilience and family connection.

Session 4 – Connecting the Clues: A Whole-Family Approach

Bringing everything together through the five foundational pillars of functional medicine:

  • Sleep and rest – restoration and recovery.

  • Movement and exercise – supporting physical and nervous system health.

  • Nutrition and targeted supplementation – optimising individual nutritional needs.

  • Stress management – building resilience and emotional regulation.

  • Community and connection – strengthening family relationships and connection with nature.

We will explore how these pillars work together to support the child's health within their family and wider environment.

Each webinar includes practical resources to use at home and time for questions.

A shared craniosacral session for you and your horse

I have worked with horses using Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy for many years, supporting musculoskeletal discomfort, lameness-related issues, behavioural challenges and stress. Combining gentle craniosacral contact with horse-whispering techniques allows me to tune into the horse's body, sensing areas of tension, restriction and imbalance.

Over time, my work has evolved into shared sessions for horses and their owners or riders. I have frequently observed how a rider's physical, mental and emotional tensions can be reflected in their horse, highlighting the profound connection between them.

During these combined sessions, the horse often settles into the craniosacral rhythm alongside its owner, becoming an active participant in the therapeutic process. Horses have an extraordinary capacity for presence and sensitivity, and I often experience them helping to deepen the craniosacral field, creating a powerful, nurturing environment for relaxation, connection and healing.

These sessions offer a unique opportunity to support both horse and rider, individually and together, strengthening their relationship while encouraging greater physical and emotional balance.

Monday evening yoga returns on 2 November

If you are local, you are very welcome to join our lovely group of yogis when classes begin again on Monday 2 November 2026.

This winter we will be exploring stillness and learning how to reconnect with the quiet place within. The sessions will include deeper pranayama and meditation practices, together with a slower yin and restorative yoga practice to help us soften effort, release tension and come into stillness.

The class is suitable for people who already practise and for those returning to yoga after a break. I will offer adaptations so that you can work with your own body rather than trying to achieve a particular shape.

Caring for yourself as winter approaches

The transition into winter can be a helpful time to simplify routines and protect the foundations that support energy, mood, immunity and nervous system balance.

  • Seek natural daylight early in the day. A morning walk, even on a grey day, can support circadian rhythm and make the transition into evening rest easier.

  • Keep meals regular and nourishing. Include a good source of protein, colourful vegetables, healthy fats and warming foods such as soups, stews, roasted roots and cooked seasonal fruit.

  • Continue to hydrate. We often drink less when the weather cools, so keep water visible and use warm herbal teas or hot water if these are more appealing.

  • Choose consistent movement rather than an all-or-nothing approach. Walking, strength work, gentle yoga and mobility can support circulation, confidence and energy.

  • Create a short evening transition. Dim the lights, step away from work, slow the breath and give the nervous system a repeated signal that the day is ending.

A gentle invitation

If you would like to know more about the November neurodivergent webinar series, a shared session with your horse, functional medicine support or the yoga classes, please book a discovery call and I am happy to help you decide which healthcare option feels most appropriate for your journey.
